I'm tapping my toes to these Serge Gainsbourg tunes this October Eve. This is class.
I picked out more classic tracks for the remaining first part of the show. initially i wanted to record an autumn mix for the second part - i hope the deep house mix in the second hour of the show can generate a feeling of autumn at least even if unmeant winter feelings arrived this week out of the blue.

Another Record that i really admire and want to share with the reader of this blog is from Renato Pearson aka Rudoulpho. This 12" was only released by Atlantic Italy, which makes it rather rare even when some might consider it a classic. Both sides of the 12" are fantastic, the a-side a beautiful deep house groover and the b-side a inimitably vocal track. If you did not know it before you will have fun discovering this gems ...

This Album is so so good. My favourite electronic music release 2009 so far.
A hugely recommended piece of music.

A masterpiece of serenely melancholy and sublime deep house crafted with the skill and dedication of someone who you can truly believe lived this music at that time.
Tinkling pianos that seem to be submerged in water, airy flutes and a number of monologues dot the record. The most notable of the latter occurs on the first track of the record in which a voice tells us "There must be a hundred records with voiceovers asking 'what is house?' The answer is always some greeting card bullshit about life, love, happiness." ...

This is the rhythm of empty midtown dancefloors resonating with the difficulties of transgendered sex work, black market hormones, drug & alcohol addiction, racism, gender & sexual crises, unemployment, and censorship.
