Mavis is Ashley Beedle and Darren Morris’ new project. Their debut album on K7 features Candi, Edwyn Collins, Ed Harcourt, Kurt Wagner and more. As all of the songs are lovely and mellow, Cosmo and Ashley decided it was time to mix it up and give Candi’s song “Revolution” a new spin. Their DarkStarr Mix is the result.

Ich hab mich sehr gefreut, dass Matthias Westerweller aka Weller mit großartigen Singles im Gepäck nach Wien gekommen und der Einladung zu Lost In Music nachgekommen ist.
Wahrscheinlich hört man jenseits der Grenzen Frankfurts über Matthias Westerweller in seiner Funktion als Discjockey, also über WELLER, recht wenig. Was damit zusammenhängen mag, dass sein Stil, nach eigener Aussage, »nicht festgelegt genug ist, um überregional oder international gebucht zu werden«.
Das ist schade für die anderen, gut für Frankfurt.
Bei Aussagen, wie »Der weiß überhaupt nicht, wie viele Leute er in Frankfurt in ihrer musikalischen Sozialisation beeinflusst hat«, oder auch »Wenn Weller auflegt, dann schaffe ich es meistens nicht wegzukommen, bevor er die letzte Platte gespielt hat - lost in music eben«, wird schon deutlicher, dass er unter vielen der etwas andere DJ ist.

Er möchte an den Plattenspielern »groovy« und »soulful« sein, und vernehmlich beherrscht er nebenbei auch genau das, was er an anderen DJs schätzt, nämlich, »eine Stimmung aufzubauen, eine musikalische Reise zu veranstalten, einfach spannende Zusammenhänge herzustellen«.

The classic sounding Toronto duo Azari & III crafted a mix laden with 303 acid basslines for the Lost In Music Radio Show

The Canadian duo of Dinamo Azari and Alixander III sound very much like they came out of 1986, especially with their creepy burner, “Hungry for the Power,” which is in spirit and tone greatly recalls all of Traxx Records classics with singer Jamie Principle. I’m hungry for the power/ Hour after hour gets roared Halloween-style over snappy hi-hats and a kitchen sink’s worth of drum machines. But what truly makes this song special is the high-toned, echoed diva ad-libs.

In the second hour of the show we'll have a special feature of Soul People Music - Fred P's Label. This imprint has released some of the finest deepest basic house tracks in the last months.
Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium has been involved with music since childhood.
Growing up in Flatbush Brooklyn Fred has been exposed to a wide variety of music such as the R&B/Funk and Rock and Roll of the 70’s, Electro/Hip-Hop, Reggae and Disco of the early 80’s as well as House music of the mid-80’s early 90’s.

This has been the soundtrack playing in the back  ground of his life past to present. Since Fred has started his own imprint Soul People Music/Earth Tones. The future is bright for Fred P as he continues to record.
