RA - Resident Advisor developed from a local fan-page into an important opinion leader. I like the topics they are covering and the taste of visitors and editorial stuff is excellent. They voted Dj Sprinkles "Midtown 120 Blues" album of the year 2009 - we wrote about this release earlier on this blog - it definitely is brilliant.
Their weekly Podcast is more often than not good - but especially the one from last week deserves to be mentioned here. If you are a regular reader or listener from our shows you'll know that Lost In Music appreciates the output from Michel Baumann aka Soulphiction and his label Philpot (which takes its name from Larry Levan's real surname).
And again the Mix he deliveres for RA sees Baumann channel his twenty years of DJing experience into an irresistibly rolling melodic house mix that balances the exclusives with plenty of vintage classics.

Lost In Music Radio Show Thursday 10.12.09

Gerd Janson is the quintessential DJ’s DJ, unearthing the gems that get other music lovers hot and excited. The man has his plate full. Whether at the helm of the long-running Liquid club night at Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson with DJ comrades Thomas Hammann and Sven Helwig, dishing out simmering analog House as co-owner of label Running Back, or penning many a story for Germany’s Spex and Groove magazines, not to mention his scholarship of American studies, he seems to run on more powerful batteries than the rest of us. Enjoy this adventure through magic dance music new & old, with special guest appearance by Kool DJ Pink Alert. It's risky, but it'll make you frisky.
